The annual service in celebration of the life of Florence Nightingale, which coincides with International Nurses’ Day and is organised by Derby Teaching Hospitals, took place on 12th May – the day of her birth – at St Peter’s in the City, Derby. Staff, students and representatives from Derby and Burton Hospitals joined local councillors and MPs. Members of the Hospital Choir sang in service lit by candles around the church. The blessing was given by Rt Revd Dr Alastair Redfern, Bishop of Derby.
